ADMISSION ENQUIRIES |
Admission to the Home is on a “needs basis” following
assessment by the local regional Aged Care Assessment Team.
Telephone enquiries for admission can be made Monday to Friday
9.00 – 4.30 pm and directed to the Director of Residential
Care or the CEO.
All enquiries remain confidential, and a visit to the Matthew
Flinders Home Inc. is always welcome.

RESPITE CARE |
A respite care service is also available and further
information can be obtained by telephoning Matthew Flinders
Home Inc. during office hours.
Advanced bookings are encouraged.

EACH & EACH-D
"Extended Aged Care at Home packages" |
EACH Packages are
designed to provide high care needs within the resident's
home. Following an Aged Care Assessment Team assessment.
EACH-D are for high care within the home and for those
experiencing a level of dementia.

VISITING
HOURS & COMMUNICATION
There are no restrictions for visiting hours at the Home, and
residents can also receive phone calls 24 hours per day.
Resident’s mail is also delivered to the Home. E;Mail
facilities available to Residents.
Local and State Newspapers are provided.
Local Library Access available. A monthly Newsletter and
Resident and Relative meetings both assist with services
improvement and communication between all stakeholders. |

FINANCIAL |
Matthew Flinders Home Inc. receives funding from the
Commonwealth Government to provide care services for the
residents.
Residents contribute 85% of the standard rate aged pension as
a minimum fee.
Further charges may apply as related to a Centerlink
assessment.

for a full explanation of fees and charges in a Federally
funded high care facility. (PLEASE NOTE:- We are not a
provider of extra services).
Accommodation charges may also apply. A list of Assets and
Liabilities will be required for assessment and a Residential
Agreement will be formulated.
Monetary donations are not a condition of entry; however, the
Board of Management of Matthew Flinders Home Inc. gratefully
receives donations, gifts in memory and bequests.

LIFESTYLE PROGRAMME |
The lifestyle programme offers a variety of activities for
small to large groups of residents and is supported by two
dedicated and trained occupational therapists.
Residents are encouraged to be involved in the community by
attending functions external to the Home.
Families are welcome to celebrate special family events with
residents at the Home.
There are areas available for small private family / friends
interactions.
Regular Church services, live music and current events are
celebrated.
Many community and school groups visit the Home throughout the
year. These visitors are always welcome, especially for our
frail aged who have difficulty in going out.
We also cater for a wide variety of ethnic and cultural
tastes.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT |
Matthew Flinders Home Inc. is supported by many community
services clubs with donations and support as well as a lot of
other indirect and direct services from people in the
community.
The Matthew Flinders Home Ladies Auxiliary puts many hours
into planning and fundraising for the purpose of capital items
in and around the home.
Auxiliary meetings are held on the last Wednesday in the month
at the Home at 2:00pm. All new members welcome.
Volunteers are very important to the Home and two volunteer
coordinators are dedicated to the professionalism of a well
operated and welcoming volunteer program.
The Board of the Home oversees the operation of a second hand shop at 18 Lewis
Street Port Lincoln – The shop is operated on a volunteer
basis and onsell second hand items from Estates, auctions and
donated goods. All proceeds are used to purchase items for the
comfort and safety of Residents.
