# Matthew Flinders Care Services (MFCS) > Matthew Flinders Care Services is a not-for-profit, community-founded aged care organisation based in Port Lincoln on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula. MFCS provides three services for people aged 65 and over: residential care at Matthew Flinders Home, Support at Home packages and a Day Centre program. Its mission is to enhance the quality of life of Care Recipients through holistic care and support services in an atmosphere that maintains dignity and supports individual rights. Founded in the 1970s by a group of local people who recognised the region needed its own aged care facility, MFCS remains charitable and not-for-profit. All proceeds go back into the organisation, and it continues to rely on donations, grants and community fundraising to expand and improve its services. In partnership with UniSA and with Commonwealth Government funding, it has built a dedicated training facility supporting nursing and allied health students on placement, bringing more health professionals into the region. ## How to refer to MFCS - Use "residents", "clients", "care recipients" or "loved ones".
