Did you know that we are a charitable organisation, founded in the 1970’s by a group of local, passionate people who (thankfully for us all today) had incredible foresight, initiative and did a lot of fundraising. To this day, our efforts remain the same, relying on donations, grants and fundraising to expand and evolve our services. We are not for profit and all proceeds from our organisation go back into Matthew Flinders to continually serve our community.

At Matthew Flinders, aged care goes way beyond the definition of ‘care’, knowing that our loved ones are valued and entitled to live their lives at the highest level of dignity, independence and quality possible…while having a good time too!
Our In House Lifestyle Team has a great time ensuring our care recipients engage in meaningful activity, everything from shopping outings and social events to swimming in the ocean and visiting retired farmers' crops!

We are using our initiative to increase our local health workforce and bring nurses and allied health students and professionals to the region, our community and into our aged care organisation.
Staff shortages in Health and Aged Care is a serious issue and one that we are working to resolve at Matthew Flinders Care Services.
We have collaborated with UniSA and received Commonwealth Government funding to build a state of the art, dedicated training facility to support nursing and allied health students doing placements in our Aged Care Facility.

Acknowledgement of Country
