Our Staff

Martha Rowe

Chief Executive Officer

Our family is very excited to have moved to Port Lincoln so that I can take on the role of CEO at  Matthew Flinders Home. We have come from Mildura in Victoria, where I was the CEO of Jacaranda Village for 2 ½ years. I graduated as a Speech Pathologist in 2000 and since then worked as a Speech Pathologist and Manager at various health and aged care services. In 2015 I took 2 ½ years off from the public sector to have a family (Ruby and Robby) and ran a private business focusing on aged care documentation and Speech Pathology assessments. I have also developed a formula for people with dry mouth during this time that assist mostly the elderly.

My husband was farming up until 2018 and we leased our farm in Nhill and moved to Mildura for me to take up my CEO role. He looks after our children full time and runs a website for farmers wanting to buy and sell grain, hay and machinery. We are looking forward to our life in Port Lincoln and I personally am looking forward to getting to know Staff, Care Recipients and families alike.

Danielle Green

Director of Residential Care

I was born in Port Lincoln and raised on a farm in Coulta 65km N/W Port Lincoln. I attended senior school in Adelaide as a boarding student then commenced a Certificate in Enrolled Nursing at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in 1989.

In 1997 I returned to Port Lincoln and began working at MFH in 1999 as an Enrolled Nurse. In 2008, I took over the role as the Coordinator of the secure dementia unit “Waratah”. I extended my qualifications in 2010 where I returned to University and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Nursing. With a deep passion for dementia care, I continued my role in Waratah as the Unit Manager.

I was appointed as the Director of Residential Care in June 2015. My passion for aged care continues and I strive to make aged care a positive experience for care recipients, families and friends.

Tegan Newman

Day Centre Manager

I was born in Port Headland WA but have lived in Port Lincoln since I was 3. I started at MFH in 2007. I gained a Cert 3 in Aged Care attained through CTC (Carers Training Centre) 2007 and a Diploma of Enrolled Nursing through CTC in 2011.

My passion for the business is to see it grow and develop with the need for our elderly community. We at Matthew Flinders Care Service have a wide range of services to offer and I am proud to be the leader of our Day Centre. I look forward to seeing and leading the Day Centre into the potential service I see it to be in the future. The Day Centre offers a unique service to our client base although there is always room for improvement and implementing new services to cater for our clients individual needs.

My future dreams personally are to see my children succeed in life and become valued members of the community. For myself it is to remain healthy and happy in life and remain in the health profession with the elderly as that is what I am truly passionate about.

Scott Carpenter

Home Care Packages Manager

I am relatively new to the Eyre Peninsula, having relocated from Victoria in 2019 with my wife who was born and raised here. We have a newborn daughter and we’re very much enjoying settling into the community.

Originally from the UK, I arrived in Australia in 2009. I hold an Honours Degree in Management from the University of Manchester and have experience across a number of industries as an Operations Manager. In years gone by I also represented both Great Britain and Australia as a sportsman over a 15 year period.

My previous roles have all centered around people and that is what I am enthusiastic about. Getting a team working together to provide the highest possible standard of service to our care recipients is my number one priority.

I feel extremely lucky to be able to contribute positively to the health and well-being of elderly people on the Eyre Peninsula and look forward to a long and happy future here.

Leah Slape

Services Development Manager

I was born and raised on a family farm in Cleve, South Australia. After further studies in Adelaide I found work in Port Lincoln at the age of 17 which bought me back to my country roots and where I met my wonderful husband. I have been working for Matthew Flinders Care Services for over 7 ½ years, starting out as a receptionist and working my way up to my current position of Business Manager. I love the feeling of helping people in need and working closely with families, Care Recipients and other health providers for the best outcome possible. I would love to see this business grow to the needs of the generations to come and be a part of moving into the future of Aged Care. My personal interest are family camping/caravanning, netball, running around after my kids and some good old fashion girls time!
