Our Staff

Nikki Meredith

Chief Executive Officer

We are always encouraged to talk about our work and careers to identify who we are, but in reality it is our family, our upbringing and our values that form the basis of our identity, so this is where I am going to start.

I was born in South Africa and moved to Port Lincoln with my parents and 3 siblings when I was 12. I met my husband when I was 18 and we had 3 wonderful children. Unfortunately, he became ill and passed away in 2007. The children are all adults now and I am excited to say that I am soon to become an Ouma.

I have had various roles over the past 30 years, juggling raising children, family and life events with studying and working. My business management experience has spanned over the past 20 years, with my most recent role being the Practice Manager of the Investigator Clinic.

Having been involved in primary health care and growing up as the daughter of a country GP, I am passionate about the delivery of health services in the Community and the Region, realizing that it comes with a particular set of challenges not faced by our city counterparts.

Saying that our small community offers an extraordinary level of care, compassion and sense of “family” that makes us unique.

I am pleased to be joining Matthew Flinders as CEO and look forward to meeting everyone and the exciting challenges coming up with the Matthew Flinders Home redevelopment.

Danielle Green

Director of Residential Care

I was born in Port Lincoln and raised on a farm in Coulta 65km N/W Port Lincoln. I attended senior school in Adelaide as a boarding student then commenced a Certificate in Enrolled Nursing at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in 1989.

In 1997 I returned to Port Lincoln and began working at MFH in 1999 as an Enrolled Nurse. In 2008, I took over the role as the Coordinator of the secure dementia unit “Waratah”. I extended my qualifications in 2010 where I returned to University and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Nursing. With a deep passion for dementia care, I continued my role in Waratah as the Unit Manager.

I was appointed as the Director of Residential Care in June 2015. My passion for aged care continues and I strive to make aged care a positive experience for care recipients, families and friends.

Beck Cotton

Community Services Manager

I grew up in North Shields and spent my childhood at the beach. It was a wonderful way to grow up and I still feel a great connection to the ocean. After finishing my schooling in Port Lincoln I started my working life within a Real Estate office but quickly realised that I wanted to be able to give back to my community and moved into the not for profit sector.

In 2010 I moved to Cairns, Queensland and continued to work within the not for profit sector, predominately within disability employment and mental health. During this time I completed a Bachelor of Social Sciences and moved into management roles as well as transitioning community mental health programs into the National Disability Insurance Scheme. I returned to Port Lincoln in 2019 and I am proud to be able to bring the skills and experience I have gained back to my home town. I am passionate about social justice and advocating for quality services in regional locations. I look forward to continuing the great work of Matthew Flinders Care Services.

Leah Slape

Services Development Manager

I was born and raised on a family farm in Cleve, South Australia. After further studies in Adelaide I found work in Port Lincoln at the age of 17 which bought me back to my country roots and where I met my wonderful husband. I have been working for Matthew Flinders Care Services for over 7 ½ years, starting out as a receptionist and working my way up to my current position of Business Manager. I love the feeling of helping people in need and working closely with families, Care Recipients and other health providers for the best outcome possible. I would love to see this business grow to the needs of the generations to come and be a part of moving into the future of Aged Care. My personal interest are family camping/caravanning, netball, running around after my kids and some good old fashion girls time!
